An Introduction to Jimmy Valvano

Jimmy Valvano was and is one of the most influential people in all of sports. His domination of the college basketball world and amazing personality he had when announcing games showed the country what Jimmy Valvano was about. However it was when he was diagnosed with terminal cancer that he became known to the world as a fighter and savior of the people. On his 1 year death bed Jimmy Valvano went all over the country making motivational speeches and even paired up with ESPN to found the V Foundation for cancer research and funding. Now 16 years after his death long after his career in basketball, teams have moved on, players have moved on and basketball has moved on. However Jimmy Valvano will never be forgotten, not only because of the $80 million which the foundation has raised to date but also because of his amazing words that are inspiring to all cancer patients or for anyone who is struggling with something hard. The cancer patients will never move on there will always be more and more new diagnosis' every day, but as long as the world remembers "Don't Give Up, Don't Ever Give Up" then the legacy of Jimmy Valvano will live on.
